The idea of ​​creating portraits was born from the desire to blend two worlds that I particularly love.

Firstly, the world of travel and more specifically the Indian subcontinent, which I have extensively explored with my camera during various stays.

A remote sensing engineer, I set aside satellite imagery for the first time in 2012 to dedicate myself to field photography. It is the northernmost latitudes of India that particularly capture my attention: Punjab, Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan... to name just a few. The tenacity and depth of the gazes I encountered in the Himalayas have left an indelible mark on me. There is an energy there that I have experienced nowhere else in the world. I remain captivated by the beauty of this country, where I experienced so many contrasts. India vibrates, India leaves its mark, India wounds, India overwhelms. From those months spent there, I returned with portraits, one of which was published in a UNESCO journal (2017).

After 12 years abroad, I took a break from my professional life to indulge my insatiable desire to create. I traded my camera for a paintbrush and painted my first portraits in 2017. I initially painted the people of my island, New Caledonia, then expanded my horizons to the Pacific, Asia, and as far as the Middle East and the Mediterranean. Now settled in New Caledonia, where nature plays a dominant role, I place great importance on depicting flora and fauna in my paintings.

As an artist in the making, I am constantly striving to learn more about the world around me. May the elements continue to help me humbly transcribe my perspective on it, through the various choreographies orchestrated by the strokes of my pencils and brushes.
