Chris Montané, 48 years old, a painter for 20 years, I am originally from the Southwest of France and have been living in New Caledonia since 2006.

My creative energy is closely linked to nature, which I express in a figurative and detailed style. The presence of man is sometimes suggested, but figures are rarely depicted.

For several years, I have dedicated myself to painting marine fauna and other ocean-related subjects in a series of watercolors created on nautical charts. Continuing with this naturalist approach, I explore the flora of New Caledonia with my watercolors, presenting it in the form of a herbarium sheet.
