Cörenod, also spelled Corenod, is a kaneka group from Tiga, Loyalty Islands (also known as Tokanod), in New Caledonia. Their music blends kaneka with groove and soul influences, creating a musical identity closely tied to their island of origin. The group has notably been described as a "kaneka tchap soul" band.

Jean-Kakou Wadewe occupies a central place in Cörenod's repertoire. He is credited as the author or composer of the majority of the songs on the album Pie, and then of all ten tracks listed on Lever les barrières.

The album Pie comprises eleven tracks, including Bané ci yedi oiru, Yewa rouze, Ha ci shungu, Ezien ci hue, Lilozur, Jeunessié, and Nodedran. The recording features Kakou, Dicky, and Droeka on vocals, accompanied by musicians on guitars, keyboards, bass, drums, and percussion. The names listed refer to the lineup on this album and should not be presented as the current members of the group without confirmation.

Cörenod continues his journey with Lever les barrières (Breaking Down Barriers), a ten-song album including Passeport pour le rêve (Passport for the Dream), Mama lame, Notre histoire (Our Story), Ilo ke nubo (Ilo Ke Nubo), Tokanaky Love, and the title track Lever les barrières. Music platforms place the release of Pie in 1998 and Lever les barrières in 2011.

In 2014, Le Mouv' announced the presentation of a third Cörenod album at a concert in Nouméa. However, I haven't been able to find a sufficiently precise public source indicating the title, tracklist, or release details of this project. It's therefore more accurate to speak of multiple albums, rather than stating that the band's discography is limited to the two albums available on major platforms.

Through his compositions, songs and references to Tokanod, Cörenod participates in the musical representation of Tiga in the kaneka scene of New Caledonia.
