The Chapitô is setting up in Pouembout. The involvement of the municipal team and the strategic location of the town in the VKP area allows us to offer a rich program to the widest possible audience in the North Province.
From August 21 to September 7, the fairground will host a rich and eclectic program, designed for all audiences. Theatre, dance, music and multidisciplinary creations will follow one another under the Big Top, with offerings as varied as "Pour un oui ou pour un non" by Compagnie Nez à Nez and l'Archipel, "On ne badine pas avec l'amour" by Compagnie de l'Archipel, "Des livres et moi" by Compagnie Troc en Jambes, "Les Sans Vagues" by Urban Breaker Crew – UBC, "Barrage" by Compagnie Exîl, "Voleurs de pardons" by Pacifique et Compagnie, "Correspon-dance" by Compagnie L'Eau Salée and "Ka Hun" by Hipop'Art NC / Théâtre de Chambre / 232U.
Access is always on a pay-what-you-want basis: to each according to their needs, from each according to their means.
In addition to evening programming, thanks to the strong support and commitment of the North Province, the state (Department of Cultural Affairs and Vice-Rectorate of New Caledonia), and the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (French public sector financial institution), we are able to develop a rich and comprehensive Arts and Cultural Education program. Schools from preschool to university will have the opportunity to discover at least one or two specially adapted performances. They will be able to combine this audience development experience with post-show discussions, exchanges with performing arts professionals, and hands-on artistic workshops.
Welcoming students from the Lycée Michel Rocard, located near the fairgrounds, is a priority. We are also continuing to welcome students from the theatre program at the Lycée Antoine Kela, integrating them even more fully into our organization's project this year.
After Pouembout, the Chapitô will continue its journey to Touho, to extend this dynamic of circulation of works and artists closer to the inhabitants, until September 21.
