Gulianod is a kaneka group originating from the Roh tribe on the island of Maré, also known as Nengone, in the Loyalty Islands of New Caledonia. The group brings together several brothers and cousins ​​and is distinguished in particular by the importance given to melodies and vocal harmonies.

The group's first clearly listed album, Ehae, was released in 1996 by Mangrove Productions. It includes eight tracks, among them Nene, Wathu hulolia, Mama wajy, Ehae, Nodei nia, Mama zato and Wacenewe.

Gulianod then released Uyegu in 1999. This nine-track album includes Wa Wessele, Cahane i sinon, Uyegu, Ci une nei ta ruace, Aca waruma, Anoyl, Yewalyly, Nod ni bua, and Areto. The main credited authors and composers are Georges Wahnuhnu, François Wahnuhnu, Médard Weneguei, and Marcel Uregei.

On Uyegu, François Wahnuhnu is credited with vocals and guitar, and Georges Wahnuhnu, Médard Weneguei, and Waye Uregei with vocals. Several other musicians and singers participated in the recording, including Mathias Wahnuhnu, Elisa Carawiane, Bernard Uedre, Nojy Uedre, André Guathoty, Yeye Sipa, and Étienne Goa.

The track Anoyl, written and composed by Georges Wahnuhnu, was also included on the compilation Best of Kaneka Loyauté Vol. 2.

After the Gulianod period, three Wahnuhnu brothers continued their journey under the name Sumaele. Joined by their wives, they formed a new family ensemble that maintained a strong focus on harmonized singing and the kaneka music of the Loyalty Islands. This evolution represents a family and musical continuity, but Sumaele should be presented as a distinct group stemming from Gulianod.
